La théorie appelée Government and Binding (GB), en français la théorie du gouvernement et du liage, est une grammaire formelle de la syntaxe, une grammaire générative du modèle chomskyen (Chomsky 1981, 1982, 1986).
En breton, les travaux précoces de Janig Stephens se développent dans ce cadre formel.
