Les items de polarité positive sont des éléments linguistiques restreints aux contextes positifs. Ils s'opposent aux items de polarité négative.
- J'ai aimé le film quelque peu.
- Je n'ai pas aimé le film (* quelque peu).
- I liked the film somewhat.
- I didn't like the film (* somewhat).
Pour l'hypothèqe que les éléments en some- en anglais ne sont pas des items de polarité positive, se reporter à Krifka (xxxx).
Terminologie
En anglais, le terme est positive polarity item. En français, on parle aussi de terme à polarité positive.
