Un verbe léger est un verbe affixal qui a souvent un sens causatif.
Par exemple, dans melenaat, 'jaunir, rendre jaune', le suffixe -aat qui apparaît sur la base adjectivale melen, 'jaune', peut être analysé comme un verbe léger, car son impact sémantique est l'apport d'une action causative de sens X CAUSE Y ETRE jaune.
Terminologie
Le terme anglais pour verbe léger est light verb.
