Le suffixe diminutif composé -igan ou -egan est assez rare.
Kervella (1947:§832) donne korrigan, loenigan. Ces mêmes exemples sont repris dans Mouladuriou Hor Yezh (1993:222) pour 'lutin, animalcule'.
En breton moderne, on trouve la formation nouvelle bagadigan, 'ensemble de grands débutants pour un bagad' (par exemple au bagad de Vannes, où ce niveau précède le bagadig).

Hemon (1976) considère -egan comme caractéristique du dialecte vannetais, allomorphe de -igan.
composition
On reconnaît dans -igan deux suffixes diminutifs différents consécutifs: -ig et -an. Le premier, -ig, est productif en breton moderne. Le second, -an, l'était en vieux breton.
Hemon (1976) donne, pour le suffixe -igan, -egan:

Heinz (2009:194) rapporte quelques cas similaires d'agglutination de suffixes diminutifs en gallois.
